I wonder what all this new talk about the new M600 and the new Fenix motor does to our Noble resale prices?

Will there be an increase in price due to mor market exposure? Reinvigoration of the market?

If anything I'd say the above - even at the envisaged price level, Lee's new line of product won't be in competition with second hand Nobles, and yet another presumably excellent product filling column inches that traces its lineage to your cars wouldn't hurt awareness levels among the public at large... smile

its a ls3 engine with different heads and a supercharger

unless they have reduced the compression ratio in the heads it has a 10.7:1 compression ratio with cast pistons

but at around 240 kg its actually quite light

with 2 valves per cylinder its a bit of an old lump in my opinion

anyone got any idea how much the engine will weigh ?
Well, I seem to remember a build log that weighed one at just over 240kg dry without starter motor and a few other bits.

Sounds good to me, I think we all had a rough idea this is what what coming.

I am far from being the target market for the car, but I am really looking forward to reading and seeing some reviews. Are there any 'on the road by' dates? End of 2010 perhaps? Would be good if it got about before the McLaren which I think is 2011.

Depending on what it looks like I might be in the market.

This got me thinking. What else could I get for £75k?

I wonder what you could do to the 480 LS3 version of the car (75k) to get the power up with say 5-10k?

i'm guessing the lower power model has no supercharger

so you would have to fit the supercharger to get the power up, there are lots of bolt ons for the LS engines

a LS7 should fit also - you can see the world record for an LS7 engine here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TCzt-Se-Wg

great engine choice! strong reliable and cheap engines. LS9 should be a stonking unit. Should beable to take it to over 700bhp with a remapped ECU and a good set of headers.

Lower powererd engine is the LS3. Its an N/A engine.

Take a look at ls1tech.com for more info as to what the LS engiens can do. One guy has made 1700bhp on a LS2 engine. In the end they burnt through the stock liners!

Cheers

Chris.

Ok chaps, I'm going 'over the top' and into a barrage of fire!
Please shoot me down as soon as you feel fit.
I'm not one to worry too much about 'climate' and don't think we are too much to blame for the 'global warming' etc but..... any shots yet? ... one of the things I'm proud of, regarding our Nobs, is the fact they are up there with the big boys and all from a 2.5/3.0l engine. You have to admit we have raped the planet of fuel in under 100 years. To have the fun you get from high performance cars like Nobles with engines half or a third of the size of some cars is unbeatable, so why such big lumps? When did you last drive at 200mph? Has anyone actually had their Nob on the limit on a public road? even the autobahns?
As we are all becoming more and more aware of fuel costs and shortages, why are there so many new cars coming out with massive engines?

You'll have to ask yourself though if port injected turbo engines tuned for maximum performance are actually any more efficient than a moderately revving, relatively high compression, big capacity but compact and lightweight normally aspirated lump...

Did wonder that. I don't know enough about engines to comment accurately. But running around town, surely the smaller engine is more efficient? And, don't get me wrong, surely efficency is good for everyone including us petrolheads.
£180 road tax for mine. Is that related to efficiency?
