Friend going along about 20-30, hit black ice on a bend, and this was the result



Everyone OK except for a few bruises, but you can see the force from the alloy being snapped in half that it hit the trees.

it is supposedly safer to hit a brick wall than a tree

They have a habit of not moving at all, whereas at least you get the 'crunch' factor of a wall even if it doesn't fall down.

If it does fall down you are in a much better place...

Just popped out for a golf lesson and the snow wasn't settled but a bit slushy. in the half hour I was inside I had 3 inches of snow on the car and all the roads covered. Had to drive back on the bite of the auto. Scary stuff.

Didn't go in and then got a call, they shut the site and sent everyone that made it in home. (suppose they didn't want to baby sit them when they couldn't get home. lol).
