any thoughts? seems a bit of a plateau has been reached with 18-20k for a roper and 25k+ for a 3r? could it cause a fall to 15k area?

I'd have thought no effect, or perhaps a slight increase, in the M12 line as it represents a low-cost alternative to the new model which will be outside may people's budgets.

The two cars are very very different.

Personally, I think it'll make the M12 more desirable. I still love mine ;-)

Looks to me that's the price you're hoping for. Bad luck. The general feeling is that prices are about to increase to their rightfull position in the market.

Huh? Wishful thinking me thinks wink

It's supply and demand, and someone in that chain for a £25k is not going to be swayed by what's happening in the 75-100k.

I agree - it`s down to supply and demand. However I think the more people who get to know about the M12 the more chance it has to maintain the price level or even increase. It surprises me how many people who have a fairly comprehensive knowledge in sports cars know so little of the M12. Some even now think I drive a £200K car.....
One think that might affect values would be if Noble ceased trading and the spares back up stopped and wasn`t taken on by someone else. So lets hope they sell some M600s....
I also think that maybe the Fenix is more of an Ultima `replacement` than an M12/14/15 `replacement` from what I`ve read so far - but hopefully more practical.

I don't think it will harm M12/400 prices whatever happens.

If the Fenix is good, we'll benefit from a "Halo effect" (not the game) and that will bolster prices on our cars.

If it's a POS, we'll just point out that we have the best cars Lee ever made. Job done.

I thnk that the M12 series will always have a stable value from now on as it will always be worth it for how it looks and the performance that it offers for the money . Simple test , imagine you have sold it for the money you believe its worth , what are you going to get for that money that comes close ? ..nothing ! smile

Prices will start to go up with demand, the brand is becoming more desirable by the day and the cars are becoming more rare, insurance companies are writing these cars off everytime they have a small bump, as you see less and less up for sale the prices will go up, even the last turkey in the shop will go for a premium.

look after your M12's and they will be worth something in time to come, they are already becoming a collectors item, although in its infancy.

Knowing how much an M12 is worth is easy for us, but to GP they can look at a 3R for 25k and another same year for 35K and think the cheaper one is a bargain, people have said to me i can buy your car for 25K, lol, No they can't, buy that one at 25K then spend 20K+ on performance upgrades, aero mods, interior mods, renovating it back to mint condition, new manifolds, upgrading all cooling system, the list is massive, so i wont go on.
Basically I know what is involved to bring these cars up to a certain spec, that is why i would look at two 3R models on the same year, for one i would only offer 25k for another i would gladly offer 45k+.
Now i am ready for the battering tongue out

a question to propose. mines is a gto 3 that has since had a quaiffe diff fitted. usually mods dont add value however now that im in the know a gto3 at 23k or a gto3 at 25k with a quaiffe diff would surely be a better purchase? would it be fair to say that the cost of fitting the diff infact just about pays for itself in related selling price? (ps not selling or anthing as i plan to keep the car a good while.)

On a car like this any upgrades you carry out should increase its value, its a racing car, upgrades cost money, power and performance costs money, but at the end of the day its what people are willing to pay, and people wanting a standard spec M12 tend to go for the best bargain.

I sold my old 2003 GTO3 with stage 4 upgrade running at 500bhp, for 8k more than others of the same age and mileage, the upgrades cost me about 8k, so i got my money back, the guy that bought it was going to upgrade anyway if he bought standard spec, so this way the work was done for him, win-win.

If/when i sell my current car i wont let it go for less than 50k, seriously, in fact i had a serious offer for 55k not too long back, but i wasnt ready to sell, many might think i am mad for not accepting the offer, but what was i going to do, buy another low dry mileage 3R at 30k spend another 20k and 600 man hours just to get the same car back, no way.

I spent 18k modifying my old cossie and it was still worth only £4k at the end of it... bloody fast and would have been tough for even a GT03 to shake it on track, but that meant nothing to buyers. It was mint as well as it had bear shell respray... I broke it for parts as it was worth more that way.

You should never modify a car with the justification that it will increase the resale value... modify it cause you want to improve and keep it, Im terrible at modding my cars and its taking HUGE amount of will power not to play with the Noble!

As for resale value... Ive always said that even Nobles arnt depreciation proof and... But fact is they seem to be fetching exactly the same money now as 2 years ago.
I think the new M600 and Fenix will have bugger all effect on resale values of M12 but that prices will remain static.

Must say tho that its irrelevant to me as Im unlikelly to sell mine cause when I come to replace it as my everyday car, the Noble will probably replace my M3 as my track toy... and get heavily modded lol

Ye, some cars it doesnt work and can actually depreciate the value, my m8 spent 15k modding his BMW 528 with supercharger and stuff, he will never get that money back.

But some cars are different, some people look to buy an M12 with the intention of upgrading, just like some people buy an FQ320 with the intention of upgrading, to these people they know what the costs of upgrades are and are willing to pay a premium for a car with all the work already carried out, rather than having to do the work themselves and it end up costing the same anyway.

Anyway, it starts here, we all decide to put up our prices, give it one month then that will be the going rate wink

Quite agree. Whilst some mods do get reflected in the sale price, the majority don't. It is fun to do though. smile

I happened to buy my 2.5 two years ago and looking at what i payed they are being advertised for more now. When looking at what the prev owner payed he lost 6k in two years so i thought i would lose less as the depreciation slows down. but i never could have expected this,
