turbos and manifolds

are they hard to get to and get off. wondered if anyones got any tips on it only gonna start getting them off over next couple weeks when i have time. thanks again

can be a pig to get off, get a blow torch ready, heat up the bolts if they are being a pain.

Get some really good penetrating oil (WD-40 is NOT a good penetrating oil), and use liberally on all the exhaust/manifold fasteners. I like to spray down all the fasteners right after I drive the car into the shop, while everything is still hot. Let it soak, then give it another spray right before you remove each fastener.

Rear isn't too bad, just take off the I/C box first. Worst part of the front turbo is if the downpipe is wrapped with header wrap - usually it's all burned and flaky, gets all over the place, and makes you itch.

I took my rear one off recently to put a new actuator on and it was easy, I had to take part of the exhaust off along with the rear clam.

Worst thing on mine was getting all the exhaust apart !!! getting the turbo,s off was pretty easy ......mostly because all the nuts had come off !!! get new gaskets while you are at it the noble ones are pants !!! and proper manifold nuts as well . simon

where would i get the bolts from. and the better gaskets please mate. thank you

Ford manifold nuts fit just fine !!! Gaskets are nissen parts see nobleparts or the wikki !! if you need part no give me a shout :-)

Turbine inlet (all) 14415-17M00

Turbine outlet (T25 and T28) 14445-26E00
Turbine outlet (GT25, GT28) 14445-79E00


ford manifold nut part no is ps f3788881 co5204 nut - hex .
