Factory/dealer. They Do break coming off, the foil backing/sticker part of the badge seperates from the clear gel/plastic front part. I'm still one down from when i moved my rear No. plate.
You can remove them by flossing them off, use floss under corner of badge and use gentle sawing action until you draw the floss right through. Sticky stuff will come away with a bit of diesel. F.C.
They will not break coming off,they are very flexible and are totally re usable, the floss method sounds good as the main problem is not scrathing the paint while taking them off, but i guess seen as though you are painting anyway this will not be a problem.
Got all mine off without a drama ( took the ugly things off on Mole Valley's forecourt before I drove it). I think I still have them in a box somewhere, devil, I try and find them if you want them.
