WANTED 3R/M400 Rear wheel (or complete set)

Fg pot-holes! Well i guess it had to happen, just took the car round the block to keep things working and hit a HUGE pot-hole, i did swerve but with a car coming the other way and the hole taking up half the road, what can you do? So i've bent the rear wheel and was hoping someone has a spare one for sale? Dont mind on the condition (it has to be round ) or i dont mind buying a complete set? Many thanks guys!

Round OEM wheels? Bit of an ask, I think. Usually come square and with cracks radiating from the centre (no extra charge)

First thing to do is take a picture of the offending hole and report it to the council. Maybe you can claim for a new wheel from them?
Sounds like a great chance to get some nice Compomotive MO's. Perfect for the pot hole ridden roads Would have thought most of the original 3R alloys would either be bent or in need of a refurb by now anyway....

This happened to me many years ago. you need to get back to the hole asap and take a picture (try to get a ruler in the picture). They will only pay for one and may pay some towards a tyre but not new. Zurich is who they use and it was hard work trying to get the money out of them.

I hit a huge one yesterday but as I have the original 2.5 wheels they held up nicely.

Considering the depth of the hole they held up pretty well, after all the stories i've heard i was expecting half of the wheel to be missing!

I love the compomotive alloys, just a lot of moneys worth to be off-roading with, it would be worth the cost if i could gaurantee i wouldn't hit another hole on our crappy british roads.

A ruler? This was no ordinary pot-hole, try 20cm deep, 90cm wide and 3m80cm long! I was just pleased the car didn't fall in. At one point there was four of us on the road swapping wheels over and in half an hour about 10 - 15 people hit it. I tried calling local police, highways agency etc to get some kind of warning there but got no response.

Yes the multispoke type, mine are powdercoated black so idealy an all black one, but i dont mind buying one and getting it stripped and powdercoated to match. Thank you.

sorry having a dumb moment. i have 2 gto wheels spare, the miltispoke blacks are on my car. so sorry, that was a classic "think before you type* moment. id love to help but er need 4 wheels on my car.

i just remembered i sold 2 fronts and have 2 rears left in the garage but neglected to remember what type i have on the car and what type is in the garage doh!

The ruler is to show in the photo how deep the hole is to show how unacceptable it is. (you do know rulers go to 30cm ). If you don't go back quickley to get this picture then you may not have a case. After I took the pic of mine and called, it was filled in the same day.

Oh yes, been up there first thing this morning with a camera and have taken a fair few shots, including a shot of the pile of hub caps on the side of the road. I only questioned a tape measure as it's not a "normal" sized pot hole, it was nearly 4m long! I will be making a complaint tomorrow but have tried this a few years ago, i didn't get anywhere with it then and doubt i will now but it's worth a try.

Metalman, defiantly call this in to the local council, and tell them exactly where it happened. One of my vans hit a pot hole big enough to blow out his reinforced commercial tyre. When we reported this to the council, they wanted to know to the nearest foot where the pot hole was. Before the tyre fitter turned up, the council men were filling in the hole, I’m guessing we weren’t the only ones to fall foul of the hole. The council coughed up for the tyre, but not for the company’s loss of earning, while we waited to have the tyre repaired. I would hazard a guess that if you can show that you can no longer replace your pot hole damaged wheel with the same new, then they should be obliged to replace all four, worth a go.

I wonder would it be worth the cost when one of your fatigued OEM wheels fails at speed and kills your car or worse you?
There are a lot of dodgy porous cast wheels out there just waiting for an excuse to turn to dust!
Compo's would be a cheap (good quality) alternative that probably wouldn't have bent in the first place.

Well you can take your wheels out Rob just leave the Noble in the shed with the lawn mower.Or buy some oem Noble quality wheels.

Yes i've started the ball rolling and put in a complaint, i have heard that so many people are trying to claim for damage to cars that they've decided not to pay out any more. Glad to hear you got yours sorted though, just need to keep my fingers X as two wheels and two new tyre are not cheap!

I thought the Mo's in 18's were about 900 quid. Not a tiny amount but i still think they will last longer than the STD alloys, and make the car stand out a bit more. Would it be worth doing an insurance claim IF the council won't pay out?
