i want to run more boost

Can anyone please tell me how i can find out if my boost is controlled by the ecu or the actuators? I have a 2.5 with jnm ecu upgrade.

I think you will find its the actuators. You can fit a boost controller to increase the boost. 0.9 or pushing it to 1 bar is enough.

The boost is usually controlled from the map in the ECU via the boost solenoid which controls the opening of the actuators.... so a combination of all these really.
If MBE ecu I believe its more straight forward than the mineralli one.

My ecu is the omex. So i guess my next question is how much will it cost to fit a boost control?

I would have thought you would have a solenoid to control the boost already fitted at the same time if an omex ecu had been installed.

I would like to know more about this because the guy who is buying my car asked me today if he could adjust the boost without messing with the ECU, apparently he is already wanting more power and is also thinking about adding NoS.
I told him not to mess as the car is perfectly setup and also warned him the gearbox would not last long if he ups the power, but he didn't seem to care.

I told him over and over that it is a race car not a drag car, i went to alot of trouble to make it drive like a naturally aspirated, but seems he is only interested in straight line speed and drag racing, oh well, his choice.

So can he put some sort of manual boost controller on the car?

Thats a big yes i had a conversation with yellow shed and if your car has boost control witch only the early ones dont i think. Then u can even have a swichable boost so your not always using full boost. Yellow shed suggested talking to jet stream (i think)about it.
