noble m12 gto 3r/ m400 reliable?
Discussion
Thats a hard one, there are people on here that use them as their every day car and seem OK. I had a couple of issues just after I got mine but sorted them and generally it has been ok but they are not going to be like jumping into a 911 for reliability.
Many guys on here are happy to tinker with them and modify them as well as power is God.
I do about 8K a year in mine but if you are doing a high mileage dont forget the servicing costs as well, typically between £600-800 each and they are only 6000 miles between services..
Saying all of that, when they are doing what they do best they are a fantastic bit of kit and sends shivers up your spine

I use mine daily and for business use and in the 30k miles I have done its comparable in cost to run than the E36 M3 and much less than the Porsche Boxster S that I used to have as company cars before hand.
I must admit I didnt have anything go wrong with any of the cars so it doesnt include and major costs.... although I sold the porsche as the cost of something going wrong was saring the hell out of me, one reason why I bought the Noble as its relativelly cheap to repair if you do things yourself (compared to porches and M3's etc).
When I bought mine I went for the best condition one with the lowest miles I could find, I have to admit its turned out to be a good one as I know some people have had loads of problems.. and while thats true for any car that you get good uns and bad uns, as these are hand built there is more possibility for variation.
The early 2.5's had ecu issues which have mostly been replaced and the open diffs (non lsd) are known to be a weak point (although mines done 40k without an issue)... its expensive to fit an LSD unless you do work youself.
