Insurance - Adrian Flux

I've just noticed the topic ( i.e. advert) from Adrian Flux posted ( and closed) on Tuesday at the top of the page.
I was with them for many years with 2 Cosworths, a Mitsubishi GTO and a GT40 amongst others. No claims or convictions during this time.
When I wanted to change my insurance with them from the GT40 to my GTO3 they said I didn't have enough experience of driving performance cars!!
Lets hope their claims in their new advert stack up. The example prices they quote don't look particularly cheap though.

I've been with Adrian Flux with other cars and they currently insure me on the Nob. They gave me a good deal: full comp including my wife, unlimited mileage, can be used for work, must be garaged at home with Tracker & Thatcham 2. £900.
My last car was a Chesil Speedster which I'd just fitted with a Hayabusa lump. They insured me on that full comp for £380 and it was bloody quick. It was written off in a big way at LeMans 06 by a mate with me in the passenger seat. It's a long story, but at the end of the day the French 3rd party were paid by my insurer so a black mark on my blotter. So £900 with a claim against me is pretty good I reckon, plus I've managed to pick up the obligatory 3 points for speeding and another 3 for being on the phone.
Add to note, that while I was in a coma in France and subsequently in traction for 63 days, my wife had to deal with Adrian Flux and they were very helpful, which is something I wouldn't expect from many insurers.

I am insured with Hagerty who are based at Silverstone. They cover track days I believe for 10% of your premium. Not sure if that's for outside of the UK but worth a call. I pay £600 for my insurance and that is after totalling my first Noble. (Sadly), with a total claim against me of approx £35K!
i am also currently with Hagerty until end of March. I just got a letter from them to say that they will no longer be able to offer a renewal quote for my poliy, following recent changes to their underwriting clauses.
I tried Adrian Flux this morning who also declined to quote.
I have a clean licence, standard 3r, and my car is garaged.
Adrian Flux put me in touch with another broker, but the best they could offer was a quote of £1800 compared to £350 with Hagerty last year.
I have just managed to get a quote from 'Competition Insurance' for £580, which includes 5 track days cover. The bloke also told me that if i do a driver training day like the Andy Walsh day tc, they give a 10% discount.
Sounds good so far, but will keep looking for better for a few days...
