What a night last night turned into finaly got home at 2.30 am absolutely knackered but buzzing all the same . !!!
firstly many thanks to Mr Trevor Jasper and Steve who did a hell of a job mapping my car last night had a few issues but nothing serious and the end result is quite frankly breathtaking ,also got to thanks the motely crew of Andy GT , Devil and son and my brother for constantly taking the piss and generaly supporting me as the boost levels climbed . if you have ever had your Noble mapped you will know what i went through biggrinbiggrin

With Trevors advice it was decided to keep torque levels around 420 lbft but let the Bhp run all the way to the rev limit ..........end result was .........463.9 BHP AT 6679 RPM and 418.4lbft at 5054rpm . most impressive was the way the power stayed up right to the rev limit with no drop off at all ,torque curve is also impressive as even at 7150 rpm its still making 335lbft . all this on std cast pistons and crank .

At what speed/gear? The losses at the wheels are highly non-linear - the faster you go the more the losses! I fail to see the point of power at the wheels on a rolling road..... (especially for example a twin roller set-up which is just like a two lane blacktop - not!). How tight the car is strapped down and what tyre pressures you run can affect power at the wheels without affecting flywheel power - so don't try and calculate a flywheel power from some percentage loss or something.... measure those losses!!

Edited to add - nice one Simon. Car went well and sounded awesome especially hitting the limiter that hard at 7200rpm!

TuxMan, any more photos of your intercooler, I've got to get mine fitted soon. Did you have to fit new silicone hoses, do the old ones not line up??

Cheers and nice one yes

hi Paul , intercooler fit uses original hoses and new ones supplied with it .... Although SFS hoses will supply you anything in any colour !!!! :-)

Jobs done was pretty much everything you can do to a std engine but leave the bottom end stock , i wanted to cap the torque at 420lbft but let the engine rev well ,something the std setup does not do !!! COST !!!!eekeekeek ....LETS NOT GO THERE !! and by whom ...........well even though i was told by some on this forum that i was not qualified to work on a Noble and was using non approved parts, i did most of the work myself !!!! with help from a few people i trust !! .....get your hands dirty its more fun biggrinbiggrin

a chassis Dyno measures power at the wheels, surely that is what was measured here ?

(i can go on about estimated tranmission losses, but this is not the right place)

wheel power is what the car delivers to the road

Tux did you get a plot of wheel power ?
