Developed a miss fire
Discussion
I found mine looked dry but then after driving for a few miles it would start to mis-fire, almost as if water was finding it's way somewhere where it shouldn't.
The two places I'd look are:
a) In the plug wells; I've been told that water can get in but can't get out so easily.
b) The lamda sensor plugs. These can get wet inside. I found loads of water in mine. They looked okay, but when I gave them a tap on my hand there was a lot of water. I dried them out with a hair dyers then after putting them back together, taped them up with insulating tape.

After you've exhausted the other ideas you may want to change the low pressure fuel hose (from tank to pump). This has a habit of collapsing under load but usually occurs only when the engine bay is heat soaked. Symptoms are as you describe, but disappear when you replace the lp hose with high pressure hose.
Hi Simon, hope your well
Miss fire started last week, and can only be described as haveing some cylinders turned off when you floor it. not as noticable at low revs. I have drained the tank, cleaned out the fuel filter, which was full of crap, i have since replaced the plugs NGK-BR7EFS set @ 30thou dried everything i can find out!!!!! still exactly the same. any help would be appriciated.
regards Richie

Yes, erm, leads ?The coils are indeed ford part. When I had this trouble I went to my local Ford dealer and they ordered me one. A Maverick is what they said it came off as I recall.
