Anybody know this noble??
Discussion
Hey all, I've been trawling the classifieds for an M12 for the last few weeks, a particular one in the classifieds keeps catching my eye. Its a 3R at a low price but was also previously a Cat C. Normally I wouldn't really look much into it but cars like nobles are easily written off for less damage than your average car. I've spoke to the seller and got better pictures and I've been offered a good price part ex for my 350Z.
I'm going to view it this week but I'd like to know if anybody on here knows its history etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Reg No. is KX54 AEL if that helps:

Thanks in advance!

Hi KrisV6, be careful, the dealer doesn't know much about the car, they arn't Recaro seats and the shut lines in the second picture (even for a Noble) are wide. If it was me I would be looking at this one, a bit more expensive, but its had some useful upgrades.

If you click on his profile, it tells you its putting out 400 bhp (dyno please) thats worth 3K on its own if done correctly.HTH

I must remember if I ever sell mine to :-
A) Make the inside nice and muddy before I take the inside pictures.
B) Have at keast half the other shots out of focus.
C) Call it an MC12 R whatever that is.
D) Have at least one Z in my company name to sound 'like we is cool'.

like your thinking Phil thanks for the replies fellas. I can tell the dealer doesnt know an awful lot about the car. And he informs me the front and rear cowls have been replaced. If the dealer can produce a good history of the car including details of who did the repair work etc then i may consider it. Unfortunately im only in the market for a noble under 25k so i think a 3R may be a little ambitious!

This is soooooo over priced for a write off! Should be sub 20k IMHO. There are some really clean 3R's about for 25k. There are a few about for 26ish and you should get adeal on a clean, straight car for the money you are looking at. I hate to to think how much you will have to throw at the write off and then have the re-sale to worry about! Posted again just in case you missed it but this one looks nice !!!

No it isn't, its completely standard. The car he owned previosuly had that spec, not the one for sale.http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1566103.htm

I'd also suggest that its had a complete respray. Only black Nobles are completely 1 colour, all others have matt black around the A pillars and around the rear 1/4 windows. This is all 1 colour, hence probably full respray.More questions to be asked...

Just an update to anybody who is interested, I went to see the car today to set my mind at rest.
The car itself drove fine although the bloke no history for the car whatsoever, not even the manuals! literally the new logbook, an mot cert and the vic check done by vosa. The repair job wasn't too bad but I did spot the odd paint run etc. The reason for the big shut lines was the that a few of the 1/4 turn locking screws were missing and he was awaiting new ones. The guys knowledge of the car was minimal at best which didn't inspire much confidence. I managed to get the price down to 22k and he said he would do a major service if I wanted the car. But still I don't think I will be buying it at all. The front shocks were apparently replaced at the end of last year during the rebuild but there was alot of surface rust on the shocks and springs which either means he's lying or its been left outside for a long period of time. All in all the car seemed mechanically sound (only take from a test drive and a look in the bay) but the lack of history doesn't inspire me with confidence. Not been looked after properly and I think a well looked after 2.5 may be on the cards.

Yea its definitely over priced and I won't be touching it!
That blue GTO3 looks a lovely example. If the owner could shave a little off the price I would be going to look at it!
Get in touch with the guy and be honest about your budget from the off. You never know till you ask That blue GTO3 looks a lovely example. If the owner could shave a little off the price I would be going to look at it!
