Ahhhh bugger .. what a sad weekend
Discussion
Get a call - car is finished! Yipeee! Rush down this morning to pick it up.
The car looks great, and they have started the car and it is running when I arrive.
I turn it off and go and sort things out and have a pee.
Get back just open everything up to check everything. It is all fine and I get in to start it up.
Nothing. Seems like the starter motor just died!
Argghh .. so I had to leave it there and go back home. Just to rub it in the weather is great and I get home and we have no power! FFS.
What a bummer! Totally ruined my weekend.
Also I now have a cracked windscreen, my insurance only allows me to use National Windscreen - who don't have a clue what a Noble is and I have been waiting 4 weeks for a replacement. Doesn't inspire confidence.

its from the lotus elan with a black rim around the edge
More precisely, the Lotus M100 (vintage ~'90-'92), although the "black out" region for the rear view mirror has a different size/shape.For U.S. cars, at least, there is a unique ID number printed on lower portion of the windshield (driver's left) that any windshield supplier should be able to use to come up with the correct part.

My insurance company won't let me use anyone else.
Which insco is it?Also when I said my car is out of action at my local garage and my garage want to give me a curtesy car the woman said that would increase my premium!
Is this normal??
Have to say, whenever Admiral is mentioned I always expect a few twists and turns. They work on an average invoice value and the likes of Auto Windscreens and National Windscreens appear more than willing to land such a contract.
If it's down to number crunching, corners will be cut and the end user is the one that usually loses out (and may not always realise this).
im with elephant which is sister compay of admiral and they tried to do the same to me, i told them where to go and i got sent autoglass who once again had it in stock and came the very next day. a word of advice, make sure they have the new rubber seal that goes round the edge as they did not have this on mine and there is a slight gap due to rubber shrinking.

"The" new or "a" new rubber seal??OK so it sounds good that they can do it, have done it and have it in stock.
I told them that I was using National Windscreen, but they were slow and if you could do it quicker I would use them. Perhaps this is what spurred them on to get it done quicker?
They literally rang me back in about 2 mins to confirm time and date.
Thanks
