Clam fasteners

I know this has been looked at before, but has anyone found a succesful replacement for the clam fasteners, mine are getting to the end of their life

A couple of them do not seem to lock in properly on the rear clam, they have been cleaned out etc etc but I dont want to risk losing the clam

Have a look at my post from yesterday, there are some companies listed on it. I'm planning to conatact SFC this week to see if they can match them up.

On the bottom part of the clip( the bit thats not on the clam) they can be wound in and out for ajustment using a screw driver. There is a metal coller around the outside of it. This isnt a complete ring and one end is bent in at ninety degrees so it locks the centre of the clip in place once adjusted. In my experiance this small bend on the end of the coller had snapped. so when trying to fasten the clam the bottem part of the clip was spining and wouldnt lock in.

Adjusting the socket and locktight helps, also the wire pin bends and deforms, I have replaced some with the same gauge stainless steel piano wire, this seems to work.

1/4 turn Pins: 40S5-7S stud with 4002-N3S washer (aircraft parts). Cross-head screw and "7" stamp.

1/4 turn Pins Receptacle: SK215-4 Receptacle. Skybolt.com

I forgot to mention also the pin can move slightly so its not central ive had that happen befor. It can just be tapped back to centre good as new.
