inconsistasnt brake pedal

what do you think, a leak in the system somewhere? it seems to be when i brake my foot goes fair way down in travel. but if i were to brake again the pedal is firm very early on ie less travel. any thoughts? its making it quite difficult to drive "briskly"

One of your rear hub nuts has come loose, remedy immediately! I drove it for a while thinking it was brakes and its ended up costing me over a grand, for the sake of a Porche lock nut. Porche part No. P999.084.641.02 £6 approx inc postage.

+1--but if that doesn't work you need to bleed the system (always a good thing to do on a regular basis, anyway, IMO).

Check your wheel bearings, what you're getting is pad knock back caused by the disc moving laterally in the caliper and pushing the pistons back into the caliper.

First push of the pedal moves the pads back out onto the disc, the second push starts to clamp down on the disc.

Is the porsche lock nut only for the 2.5s? Or does it also relate to a 3R as well?

3r and M400's aswell, note they are rear fitment only the fronts are different.

FWIW, upgraded front axles from the U.S. are the same as rears.
