Angry wife

Angry wife last night pull very hard on the internal door handle and something has gone.

The handle lever is now loose and the door does not open from the inside.

Maybe something in side has snapped?

I guess I need to take off the entire side panel and see if I can fix it.

I've forgiven her though .. though I got some brownie points saved up.



I guess all clouds have a silver lining.

Yes that's certainly a door panel off to see what has failed. That means speaker out and arm in the hole to undo the bolts. Hope you have long thin arms as I always end up with bruised arms when I do it.

30 mins?

I need to pop out later and I don't want to start and not get it finished!

Slightly quicker if it all goes smoothly (so plan for longer ).

From memory:

Remove speaker cover, screws, disconnect and remove speaker
Remove all screws from around edge of panel
Remove bolts from window winder and remove
Remove screw and plastic door handle surround
Remove screw and plastic door pull
Insert arm and undo 4 butterfly nuts that hold the panel in place

Remove panel and show bruises to wife for more brownie points

Think its 3 butterfly nuts. It sounds like the pull rod has become detatched from the handle, not too hard to put back.

yup all done ... thanks guys - took about 10 mins!

Very easy - I have very slim arms so was able to reach the butterfly nuts easily.

The rod had just popped out of the handle.

Thanks - however I have told the wife it was a nightmare ....

Oh I found two small rubber bungs floating in the door.

Any idea what the are for?

Can't be that important as they have not been doing anything.
