DLC port

Does my nob have a DLC port anywhere??????????

What's a DLC port ? I assume it's for the ECU; is DLC another term for ODBII ?

If you have the MBE ECU which was fitted to the 3/3R ( and 400 I assume ) then the ECU is not ODBII compliant in any case. But the connector ( 9 pin DIN ) is tie-wrapped to one of the cross members above the battery.

I think it stands for data logging computer. Its for diagnostics. My cars got an after market ECU which i have conected to it with my pc and ive no idea how to use it. A mechanic was asking if it had the DLC port as most cars have it and he could conect straight to it. I think DLC the same as OBD.

Whats the ECU, some like mine have the data logging memory inside the computer. the more std way is that you have to have the PC attached and set it into data logging mode on the software.

I've had a Google for DLC and it seems to be the term used for the port to connect to the ECU. So you'll need to know what type of ECU you have fitted in order to know what software you need. I know ODBII compliant ECUs can also be read by hand-held devices. The ECU will be located behind the driver in the engine bay, so that's the place to start looking. I suspect once you've located the ECU you'll be able to see where the comms port is wired to.

Thats what the mechanic wanted to plug in the hand held device. My ecu is an omex and ive already got the software just know idea how to use it. I think the mechanic just wanted to use his devise as thats what he knows.
