Anyone Every changed battery?

Yep - I changed mine in the first week of owning my Nob.
Make sure you jack it in the right place, i.e. along the rivot line in from the sill. also, you may find it easier to roll the car onto a bit of wood first so you can get the trolley jack under the sill.
Also, it will be a lot easier if someone helps. Getting it out is the easier part, but trying to get it back in is tricky because you end up having to push it up though the hole whilst lying on your back and a battery is on the heavy side. So if someone can grab it whilst you lift it that will make it simpler.

I changed mine, it's very fiddley.......you will have to jack the car up, it's best to have a mate on hand with a torch, tea, moral support ;-). Tape up the spanner to insulate it i, I ended up tying a piece of string around my spanner and looping it over my middle finger after dropping it for the third time! Sounds silly but it worked, as it's a bloody tight space and easy to lose a spanner in there.
It is a simple bracket just terrible to access. As I say, rope a mate in to help, that way you can hold the bracket in place from the bottom whilst the guy tightens the bolts from above etc.

I found the worst bit was getting the inboard clamp threaded rod to stay in place. If the hook at the bottom falls out before you have tightened it, then the battery has to come out again to reposition it.
So, I drilled a small hole in the end of the hook and wired it in place before putting the battery in.
Made the job much easier.
By the way, whilst you have the battery out, check that the heat wrap tape is still in place on the exhaust/cat. Mine was missing and the old battery was melted and looked like it had been on fire!
I fitted some new tape - not an easy job in the confined space either!

Also, mind you don't knock out any of the fuses when you have you arm down the hole refitting the battery.
The rear most 20 amp fuse powers the ECU, so if you are daft enough ( like me! ) to knock that out, you will find that your new battery spins the engine over fine, but there will be no spark!!
You will have refitted all of hoses that hide this area by the time you find out, and it will be difficult to spot your mistake and will take ages to find it!
