Yep, it's all going wrong.

Excuse the mood of this post but I really don't know what to do.
On Friday, the car was running excellently. It was a hot day so I had the air con on full blast. A couple of times I thought I felt something drip on me, but couldn't see anything.
Then, when I was nearly home, accelerating up a hill onto the motorway in 2nd gear, a full blown squirt of freezing cold water all over my left leg. Absolutely clean, cold water.
This morning, get the car out to go for work, everything seems fine while it's warming up until I accelerate from a roundabout and notice I have barely any turbo pressure at all. I spent my lunch time looking to no avail, an hour after work and I've just spent two hours looking for/ trying to get to / strugging to get anywhere near various boost hoses. Nothing is loose, nothing seems to be split.
I now have an NA noble. So, from a previous poster in my searches I take it for a drive anyway to see if it's something that'll clear. I lock the car, run upstairs to grab my wallet, come down and it's dead. Completely dead, no lights inside, nothing, no power. I then have to remember how to unlock it, put the keys in the ignition and suddenly it all lights up again and starts with no trouble.
So, I take it for a drive and stop in Sainsbury's to grab my week's lunch (boost still f*cked). I press the keyfob, it doesn't go beep. Instead the alarm goes off for 10 mins while I try to disable it. I check the fusebox. One of the red fuses (I think 4 from the left, top row, small spade ones) has melted. Not blown, the plastic around it has melted but left the fuse intact. I take it out, the alarm stops, I put it back in, the keyfob suddenly works again. It locks.
What is going on with my car? All I can currently think is that I've made some kind of terrible mistake. I can't afford for hundreds of things to go wrong with it. I can't even afford one big thing to go wrong with it to be honest.
Could the water on friday be related? If it went onto my feet, surely it went all over the fusebox the other side? Where's the water from? Why do I have no boost? Could that be related too? Perhaps it's all electrical? What's going to go wrong next?
Do I really want the bother? I'm not a rich person, I don't have another car currently nor do I have much spare if anything serious goes wrong. Should I find the issues and sell it? Will anyone want to buy it?

Right, first of all buddy, calm down and take a few deep breaths!!
Now the simplest scenario is usually the right one so as you've mentioned a few completely unrelated faults all in quick succession I'd say the exuberance with the washing might be your problem. I'd suggest that you don't use the car any more in case the next issue is engine related and does some expensive damage. So far you might be able to sort everything by taking your time and checking things with a bit of patience!
Sorry if that doesn't directly help any issues specifically but you seem to be panicking and it might not be as bad as you think!!

Washed the car Sunday, water came into footwell on Friday. Now the simplest scenario is usually the right one so as you've mentioned a few completely unrelated faults all in quick succession I'd say the exuberance with the washing might be your problem. I'm not panicking, i'm just exhausted. It's pretty stressful having your only car being a £20k sports car, let alone when everything suddenly starts going wrong at once.
Water in footwells commonly caused by A/C drain hole/pipe being blocked. Simple as finding the tube (from underneath) and unblocking it. Fuses and alarm common problem - suggest replacing quite a few and cleaning all contacts and spraying them to prevent further corrosion.
As Gadge said in another thread, lack of boost probably actuator linkage come off. Check the bottom of the turbine housing - there's a rod linked to the capsule under the compressor - the turbo end of one has come adrift. Otherwise, you've got a leak somewhere.

Hi, might be a red herring but when I had my M12 the aicon on full would deposit water in the passenger footwell when cornering in a spirited fashion. Easily fixed as condenser pipe was originally too short and local Noble dealer just extended outlet pipe so it exited outside. I never had the electrical problems you mention but I guess it could be water ingress into fuse box in the passenger foorwell.
I hope this helps. I am sure somebody more knowledgeable than me will be able to provide better advice. Good luck and I hope it all goes well when sorted.

I had the same water problem with the drain pipe caused by one never having been fitted !!!
Mr Yellowsed spot on as always. All these things may be a mystery initially and somewhat worrying but remember there is loads of knowledge on here for free and some very genuine guys.
Keep the faith

One other possibility for the water problem - if the connection between the A/C hoses and the evaporator aren't insulated, condensation forms on the ends of the A/C hoses and drips down onto the fusebox. Easy to check by removing the panel at the end of the footwell covering the fuse and relay panels, and look up above the fuse panel. You may have to also remove the panel under the radio. I think there are four hoses, two rubber ones with normal hose clamps for the heater, and two with aluminum ends for the A/C. If the aluminum ends are exposed, wrap them with some pipe insulation tape.
Hi guys, a couple of my friends have had some other ideas - MAF and Coilpack
Could either of those been related to the fuse box? Could this whole thing be caused by the fusebox going mental after being drenched?
Still can't check the other stuff (front turbo) because I have no way to get the car in the air, currently asking round all my mates at work who offered to help if stuff went wrong, they're all busy.

No, and no. Car doesn't have a MAF sensor and if it was the coil pack, you'd have misfire, not failure to start and lack of boost, etc, and not linked to water in footwell. Find the A/C evaporator drain and unblock it/direct it out of the cabin and that'll cure that. As said before, clean all fuses and also clean the relays. Check that they all seat correctly and that all their connections are sitting in the bases correctly.

You're likely thinking "What the hell have I done ?" - sounds just like me about 18 years ago with my first Esprit ! Have a look at my thoughts at the time, it might make you feel better ! http://www.adrianmugridge.co.uk/s3.html

Thanks for your help everyone, my whoosh-tish-whoosh-tish is back!
Can't tell you how happy I am, managed to borrow a jack and axel stands, and using two hands from two different people we managed to get the front wastegate actuator back together.
Perhaps a lesson in not overreacting in future, although with this being the third thing gone wrong in as many weeks I feel it was slightly justified. I think my main worry was how far I might have to drive it to find a place to get it in the air with the engine running poorly!
Thanks guys
