Right, I've just finished tidying up the last few bits of wiring and shielding stuff in the engine bay and have noticed somthing.
Against the rear bulkhead there is 5 relays, the third one along from the left has just two white wires coming out from the bottom which are about 12 inches long and they go nowhere.

Now these wire look like they have been cut when you look at the ends but I'm sure I would of remembered taking my snips to them when I removed the engine.
I have checked the American build manual and it says a sart relay and looks like meaty red wires and not spindly White ones.

Please does someone have any idea whether these wires are needed .

Much appreciated, ( a tired and slowly losing the will) Matty.

Out of the 5 relays, three are off the body electrical harness, and the other two are off the engine harness. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the engine harness relays are, they aren't documented in the US build manual (or at least I haven't found the documentation for them), and I'm not at work where I have an extra harness kicking around...But, I'll give you the ones that I know.

The three relays off the body harness are:

- RR01 - A/C: should have red, brown, purple, purple wires
- RR02 - Starter: should have red, brown, black/yellow, black/yellow wires
- RR19 - Turbo wastegate control: - should have white, white, brown, brown/red wires

I think RR19 is used by the "Turbo boost switch" on the dash, which isn't hooked up in the US cars - if it's the same in the UK cars, then it's a good candidate for your mystery relay...

Good luck!
