out in the nob yesterday and i got my first bit of abuse in two years of ownership. I was on a duel carrage way overtaking some cars not particualy fast either when a hand came out of one of the cars giving me the wcensorednker sign. so drove along besides him and there was a stream of abuse. so i stared at him thinking its a friend of a friend having a laugh or something. But it def wasn't it was a total stranger. It was a middle aged man trying to show off to his teenager son from what i could see. So im shouting at him "is there any need for that". But he just kept it coming. I then lost it drove in front of him slammed on the breaks and tried to make him pull over but he drove around me. We got on to single lane bit of road and he was signing to me in the mirror now then i overtook him pulled on the handbreak blocking the road so he mounted the path to get past. Then his son was trying to show me that he was on the phone to someone. After following them for ages a going miles out of my way i decided he wasnt exactly going to pull up on his drive so i left him. Besides my left ear was ringing from my mrs shouting at me to stop it. Its a good job he didnt pull over because im fairly sure i would have been banged up for the weekend. But it made me feel good to know that he was showing off to his boy probably saying look at this rich kid in his sports car etc etc what a puff, and questioning my man hood. But he didnt look so big after all. He was going to some lengths to not pull over.
Im sure most people would think my behaviour barbaric and over the top but sometimes people just push the right buttons.

Fair play to you to be honest!!!

I was in mine a few years back in Manchester and I got some abuse of some scallies in their early 20's..... However the approached me at some lights and started gesturing for me to "get out of the f*cking car". Needless to say i bricked it and at the fear of being car jacked, floored it through a busy set of red lights in a cloud of smoke! rolleyes

Good on you for standing up for yourself, I hate these tcensoreds that think they have the right to give abuse and can get away with it, it's always nice to see their face drop when you stop the car and walk up to the drivers window and give it a tap. Not so tough now eh?! hehe

I must add, never had any abuse what so ever in the Noble, only ever get thumbs up and waves which is much nicer.

Sorry .. but I don't understand why you are getting so vented up about it! Driving infront of someone and pulling the handbrake is never a good idea no matter how angry you are.

I don't want to sound rude, but my personal opinion is that doing that makes you no better than them. I usually just laugh, wave back at them and leave them in a cloud of smoke as I motor on to get on with more important things in life.

People like that just aren't worth anybodies time.

Firstly I love Nobles, I think they are tres cool.

Secondly I dont think road rage is cool and you let yourself down badly in this situation

Thirdly posting what you did on a forum is potentially giving the police a lot of evidence if the twerp in the other car reports you for dangerous driving.

Next time flick em the V's and move on.

You need some anger management therapy as your reaction is in no way balanced and is clearly both stupid and dangerous.

Something I would expect from a chavved up Nova driver not a Noble....

People react differently to certain things & i am with the op to be honest!
Some would laugh it off, others wouldn't. Simple as that.

Car is running smooth at last, I spent a lot of time checking plugs, injectors, coil packs, fuel lines, wiring, etc with no luck, then borrowed another ECU and the problem vanished. So I went to see Mr Jasper who loaded one of his maps onto my ECU and the cars been running very well since.

Would expect better from someone who claims to be involved in crash testing and therefore should be aware of the potential consquences of the OP's actions frown

I dont think you can stereo type "chavved up nover drivers" or noble drivers either. That comment seems a bit pompous. But i do agree with the fact that i over reacted it was very stupid. However i only pulled up on the handbreak at parking speed and wasnt going to cause an R.T.A Besides him driving on the path to get past was more dangerous in my eyes.

I think you might wish to reconsider posting that on a public forum.

Just today i was driving up the A3 to hindhead and it goes from 2 lanes to 1 as there are roadworks (been there for a few years).

Despite the fact that the road signs say use both lanes to merge, people just tend to que in the left lane, so i was just stolling along the right lane and some guy ahead had his hand out the window as if to say "typical" and then as I got to him I got the W**ker sign.

I just don't understand people sometimes, If they all new how to follow the signs and people merge without trying think everyone is trying to force their way in then the world (well the roads) would be a better place. smile

To be honest ... he was probably scensoredting himself at this point and needed to get away from you fast. With the crazy people in the world now-a-days if someone wanted me to pull over and stop for a chat I'd mount the pavement and drive through someones garden to get away from them.

I wouldn't want to stop and find out they have a weapon or a couple of screws loose in their head. Don't be fooled one unlucky punch to the head when you least expect it could kill you.

@ OP

Just maybe the twerp giving you agro may think twice from now on. If some idiot started giving my mum some abuse because they were jealous of her car which made her crash etc etc

Some people don't deserve a place in the society I live in.

Good on yer...

I have never had any abuse quite like that in the Noble. closest ive come is some guy walking by with a group of mates and saying "i've got one of them... but never drive it cause its crap. then winking at me". all good fun.

had abuse in other cars though. i agree with above. i usually smile and wave in any road rage abuse situation. I get much more enjoyment that way. If i'm in the car capable, i would then burn them off with an even bigger smile... or sometimes just stay there longer so they can see my smile for longer ;-)

dont think i would ever do that!

cheers
