Sealing underpan and noise
Discussion
I recently had my floor taken off and resealed.
Now I find the car a lot noiser! A lot of the noise seems to be coming up through the gear lever area.
Is the central tunnel open to the bottom of the car?
The guys that have taken the underpan off was there any acoustic rubber to this? Could something have been removed whilst the works were undertaken and not replaced allowing this extra noise to now come into the cabin.
The Noble used to be quite quiet in the cabin when the windows were closed - however now it is very noisy and quite unbearable - I am getting headaches after being in the car for over 1hr.
Has anyone done anything to dampen the noise in the cabin?
Thanks

I refit my floor pan with a neoprene seal which is more spongy than a silicone based sealant. I also put some soundproofing on top of the floor pan before fitting the carpet back down (did you have new carpets or the old ones?). No issue with noise now but haven't really noticed a significant improvement.
If the floor has not been fastened properly then I suppose it could resonate.
If you look here you will see what I did....
