Hi Guys,
Anyone got any good condition or refurbed T28s up for Grabs. Car goes in soon and we suspect the smoking is turbo related. So I have option to refurb/upgrad my T25's or swap straight to 28s.
Its all depending on cost.
I ultimatly want to get to +400bhp on a 2.5 so I'm told the T25's may be hard pushed to get me there. This is future we are talking about as I still need free flow exhaust/valve springs but thought best to get there one bit at a time. Will the std injectors be ok?
Cheers

They can refurb mine and change the exhaust housing to 28's. Just trying to see my cost options.
Just purely out of interest, how much did they want to refurb and convert a pair to T28 spec?Gadgeroonie said:
if i were you - i would consider a single turbo conversion
if would work out cheaper if you were going to do the turbo's and exhaust
a GT30 would be a great choice of turbo and would easily make the power
one turbo is cheaper to buy than two
I agree but I don't want to be different as I know it can bring up issues not thought about so as the exhaust is already jigged then I'm not sure the cost difference would that much. if would work out cheaper if you were going to do the turbo's and exhaust

My turbos are fecked so looking to refurb and upgrade as i think my car is in need of more power. But would the t28's be more laggy??? how far in hp will 25's take me and at what boost????Anyone got any good condition or refurbed T28s up for Grabs. I'm looking for 400 in the end but to get this the T25's will be flat out so the 28's should breeze it and I do not want to run more than a bar peak 0.9 continuous. the exhaust is the bit that will show the most gain as the std is so restricted. The lag will not be that noticable but as part of the refurb the turbos will be better than std.
Also eventually I will need to upgrade the valve springs, this will allow higher reving and more boost.

If you're planning to go up to 400Bhp, don't forget to put a few quid aside to get the gearbox rebuilt after you've lunched that as well Also eventually I will need to upgrade the valve springs, this will allow higher reving and more boost.

Hmmm, even universal turbos suggest changing the exhasut housing to the 28's?

The 28's will allow me to have better power through out the rev range with a slight bit of lag. what would people suggest i do?

Have the T25's refurbed as they are prone to wear and tear problems, and fit slightly stronger actuators. They WILL out perform T28's with your suggested performance targets.Mike.

I think Universal sadi that they change the actuators for better ones and will fit 360 bearings.
