How the hell are you supposed to get that pannel out?

I have a 2.5 so heater box is different. on the 3's your ducting goes onto tubes on the housing. Mine just has them pointing under a hood?

Not sure its that different that I can get the plate out though?

It's a bh isn't it. I have no idea if there is an easier way but I used a 90 degree screwdriver to get the top screws out and then removed the 2 bolts through the chassis to get better access to the middle 2 screws - the bottom 2 were relatively straight forward. I did have the car on a ramp at the time with the front floor panel removed.

Good luck - it took many weeks for me to do the floor, tunnel mod and radiator etc.

Bolts in chassis not easy to get undone. floor at front is still on.

If we struggle tomorrow, I'm going to bodge it and cut a hole while its in place and shove the hose in it

It's probably a virtually impossible task with the floor on and I am aware of others who have adopted the "bodge" approach.

I've never had to remove the bottom panel to do the tunnel mod - I've always done them from above, most of the time with the car on the ground. Removing the heater box may make the job easier. I've done this with a few, and worked around it on a few others. You do need to undo the steering rack supports and swing them out of the way. The screws holding the panel in place are fairly accessible - some of them took a real long screwdriver, the others took a stubby. Then, it's just a matter of snaking the panel out between the bulkhead, the ears for the steering rack supports, the wiring harness, and the brake line that runs right in front of the panel....It's doable, but makes you wish for one of those portable black holes that Bugs Bunny (or was it the Road Runner?) used to put on boulders to make instant tunnels...

any photos cause i'm looking at doing this now,also where does all the air go once in the tunnel.is their any pressure build up ?

Some air will come out the vents in the bottom of the tunnel, but most should come out the back of the tunnel, right into the area around the front turbo.
