I searched back 8 years for +adjust +front +clam, but came up empty handed. I dread trying to close mine because I have such a hard time getting the 1/4 turn screws to bite. I think the whole clam needs to slide backwards just a nudge or two. I can get to the two bolts on each side that attach the clam pivot bracket to the frame, but I'm a bit afraid to loosen them for fear of making a bad situation worse.

Can any of you help me out with tips, tricks, or don't-do-it-that-way advise? I'm assuming it's best to remove the clam first, but then what?

take the clam off and ajust the bars at the front back a bit

it should not need adjusting - are you sure yours has not had a shunt at the front

The camloc fasteners are adjustable also - the receptacle 'depth' can be decreased if they're not engaging properly.
