failed emmisions

so thinking wow the noble cost me nothing at mot time to be hit with failed carbon emmisions. 4.5% running rich. been told it needs to go to a noble dealer as the ecu is locked or passworded or something? anything cheaper better option? based in aberdeen so if needs must its a bit of a road trip

it might need a lambda sensor thats all

hi would sugest find a frendly mot man or run car low on fuel and put a stong mix of fuel injection cleaner in round corner from test centre then straight after test top up fuel works a treat usually

Plug it into the Noble ECU software (covered on this forum many times) and take a look at the Lambda sensors to see if they are working correctly.

I had a similar problem last time I did my MOT and one of my lamda sensors was unplugged!

Plugged it back in drove down the motorway for an hour and went back to the MOT centre and all was fine.

I didn't put any additives in at all.

If it is running rich all the time won't it damage the CAT? So wouldn't you want to fix the problem rather than just a temp fix to pass an MOT?

forgot to say i dont have cats in my system and mapped to throw in buckets of fuel

i didnt think it would pass either as car was mapped with no cats but it did the guy who told me the way to get it through was a vosa inspector who shall remain nameless??? [a very helpful chap]
