Guess it depends on how you car handles mine was a bit loose on the back but a drop in tyre pressure and some aero work fixed it , you could go up 1 size without effecting you ratio's but I would think to go up to 295 you would have to drop a profile , if you widen the fronts up they rub on the body so be careful there !! Other problem is getting hold of SO3/2 I've been told you can no longer get them although I don't know if that's true !! Me when I upgrade to 888 I'm sticking with the STD size !! Tux

I changed my rears about 1 month ago - got them online at Blackcircles.

S02s. I kept to the original size.

Ive gone up to 295's but not run them so cant comment if its a good idea or not, I reduced the profile to compensate... I have also gone up on the fronts as well.

Tux, SO3's have been out of production for around three years. Nice rubber and well suited to a "standard" 3R IMHO. I'm still on my second set. No idea what SO2's are/were (3's were OEM for the 3R line).

I went up to 275's on the rear and 235's on the front as I was advised these were the optimum size for the rims that I had bought (and the standard Noble rim size). The fronts would just catch on full lock but easily solved with a change in offset so I just had some hub centric spacers made that were around 5mm each. The rears are fine and now fill the arches.

Oh....and I want to Goodyear F1 Assymetrics and really enjoy them.

Whatever tyre make sure you get rim protection as the Noble rims look crap without rim protection tyres.

Thats exactly what I had planned for the very near future, 235 and 275 Goodys.

Interested in the spacers idea though, what was the initial reason for this, just to stop the scrubbing on lock or for a handling inprovement? Or was it just for looks?

Purely for scrubbing on full lock - it was marginal and hence just 5mm spacers which cleared the issue.

Its the other way round S02s were the OEM standard and were the best but now out of production. However they are still available in some large online retailers.

S03s were then new replacements but are no where near as good as the S02 hence no one buys them.

Well, this is kind of like comparing apples to orangutans - the S02 is a pretty good street tire. The 888 is a competition tire that also happens to be street legal. The 888 is going to give far more grip, at the expense of tire life and some susceptibility to heat cycling.

Yes the 888 is much better for track.

But for everyday street use the S02 would be better.

Just depends on what your requirements are.

I've got Dunlop Sport Maxxs on mine. Good tyre and very close to the S02 in performance.
