Are you sure its not the tappets/lash adjusters ?

Also a symptom of a cracked manifold

really hard to pinpoint a tick from head... you can't adjust the tappets and its unlikelly to be valve springs.

I had a tapping from my top end and it turned out to be big ends (sounded nothing like big ends though) and i had to rebuild the engine

I replaced chain, tensioners and tappets because it sounded like these.

It could be something as simple as the exhaust manifold gasket.

I changed everything ...... and welded collectors ....
new gaskets .....
hits the valve spring or tick tick tick
