Rear lights playing up

I got pulled last night by the the plod. They have brought it to my attention that my brake lights are constantly flashing. They come on and off also when i push the throttle and clutch. I'm guessing its a bad earth but has any one got any ideas on where would be a good place to start looking????

sounds like a dodgy switch to me.

stick your head in the foot well and see if it has come loose on the pedal box

Thanks for help every one. I Went out for a look, touched the swiched which snapped off as i was proding it. Then as it was falling the live wires to the switch touched the pedal. Giving me a miniture fire works display in my face.
