dash light problem

how can i fix this problem? i take it that its the bulb gone but is it a big job? any instructions would be great

Not seen that before but have you tried reaching up behind the dash ,the bulb is normaly in a holder that you turn through 90 dgrees and pull out . would not imagine its a difficult job .

If you lie with your back on drivers seat and head under the steering wheel, you should be able to feel for 2 (think it's 2, might be 3) small bulbs that just pull out from the holder. Get the lowest wattage replacements - I replaced with a higher wattage which started to melt the holder.

If you reach up behind the gauge, there are two knurled nuts holding it in place. Undo the two nuts, pull off the metal bracket that keeps the gauge from falling out, then push the speedo out of the dash. Once it's out, it should be easy to replace the bulbs...

finally got around to swapping the bulb! looks like its the wrong wattage! the old bulb is marked '3 watts at 14v' but that aint bright enough!

does anyone know the correct wattage please

ive got the same problem but ignored it for the last year.

If you put in 5w bulbs it will melt the plastic shroud that holds the bulb, if you want brighter light then replace with super bright LED.

is it best to buy a set of four; to fit all of the dials?

just looked in the handbook and recommends 5w bulbs, but reading the comment above it sounds as if its going to produce too much heat!?! any suggestions or should i got for the LED?

ye sorry maybe it was a 10w bulb i tried that melted the plstic shroud, the 5w are very dim, the problem is the dials and one of the resaons i decided to change them.

On ebay, search "Noble M12" and you will see the super bright LEDS on the second page.

scroll down and you'll find it tells you they can also be used for numberplate, interior and dash. They also have a phone number so give them a bell if you're not sure.

Be careful buying LEDs from eBay, I see there is someone selling festoon LEDs for the interior when the Noble doesn't have a single festoon in it anywhere!

Have you tried putting those LEDs? Im considering the purchase from ebay. How many bulbs will i need for all dash and gauges? including the gauge in center piece (where AC knobs are).

they arrived today, im going to put them on tomorrow night, will post a pic and also the item number if anyone else is interested, only cost £6 for 4 (maplin was £8 EACH)
