Keep loosing rear number plate

On my 3rd plate now and cant seem to keep them there.
The obvious way is to drill and bolt but if I get stopped and have to revert back I dont want to be left with holes.
I have used the best double sided tape I could find, am placing it below the mesh on the flat surface at the rear, but the heat just causes them to fall off

Any ideas. TIA

Craig, I use some tape made by 3M, Its grey in colour and like a rubber/foam compound and it's mad.

I reckon you could tow a car with your plate once its fixed on,

I actually snapped a plate trying to peel it back off before and then had to use a hairdryer to warm it a bit.
I'll try and find out what its called but its good st, doesn't mark the paint and is really stretchy

If you want something to stick without making holes, use velcro.

However if its a hot day, anything with adhesive will melt off so the only full proof way to attach the plates is by rivets.

The plate has been made smaller so not standard size.
Dont like the look of a stick on.

Guys, its so easy.

Drill two hole spaced apart by and inch or so in the black lettering at each end of the plate. Then just use two black cable ties to secure it to the mesh. Did this 5yrs ago and its still there

I've always used Sellotape double-sided pads on mine and my OH's cars' plates but they need replacing about once a year.

The problem is I think, that part of the clam gets very warm so it dissolves and falls off.
I had a sticky one just didnt like the look of it. Perspex one looks better and less likely to get stopped.

Have just got some pads so will give these a try in the morning see if they last more than a couple of hours.

Try 3M automotive molding tape. Made for sticking on moldings, trim strips, emblems, etc.
