Think mine were M8 x 1.25 6Pt (but get that confirmed). The other trick to reducing the possibility of turbo to downpipes nuts working loose is to remove the gasket. Can't recall the physics, but at high temps they act as a sort of lubricant.

Where on the exhaust are you talking about? The manifold-to-head studs are M8x1.25, as are the turbo-to-downpipe studs. I think that the manifold-to-turbo bolts are also M8x1.25, but that's a guess. Then, there are the bolts on the three-bolt flanges at the Y-pipe and at the muffler, which I don't remember at all...

It's the turbo to exhaust. If u take the gasket out surely it will leak and start blowing

Get the Nissan gaskets they are much better quality , with the correct nuts they will not come loose although you will need to nip them up after a couple of hundred miles !!

No - as you have just found out, they leak and start blowing with the gasket present! So long as the faces are clean and flat, you won't have a problem. It's what was done to the Ford WRC cars to obviate the same issue wink

Me too! Put in the nissan gaskets with proper nuts and for the first time in two years I have no blowing exhaust.

No gaskets, just a bit of grease on each surface
