Cutting out when using the fan and headlights
Discussion
Hi Rob,
I usually only get this with the aircon on but I don't think I've ever been out with the headlights and heater/fan, I would imagine they draw similar currents and therein lies our problem. I am now in the habit of switching the A/C off as I come to stop. You could possibly ask Geff to up your idle revs?

Recently when driving if I have the heater on and headlights the car cuts out when I come to a stop and idles very low. As soon as I turn off either the fan or healights all is well.
Is there a known problem and fix?
Cheers

Is this the first time in cold weather with the ECU rob as when it was mapped the weather may not have been so cold. I now have an idle control valve fitted that help alotIs there a known problem and fix?

Is this something new, or has it been going on for a long time? If it's new, I'd check for vacuum leaks, and make sure that the idle stop screw on the throttle body hasn't moved. Make sure that everything else is up to spec - good spark plugs, clean fuel filter, etc. Load test your battery and check your charging system. If you are using the MBE computer, try clearing the adaptive maps. If it's always done that, then talk to your tuner - he should be able to make some adjustments.
