Picked Up My Noble Today

Hi everyone ,

well after a long search and getting the money together and with great help from you guys on here and reading loads of threads i have today finally bought a Noble 3R . I drove it back today and really enjoyed the two hour drive . Unfortunaley , i live in London so I have to try and venture out and find some nice roads .

I need to take off the front splitter as it will scrape especially down the drives.

My questions are if you could kindly help please ;

1. Is it easy to remove the front splitter ?
2. I think i read somewhere that if you take the splitter off it does not affect the handling , but i am not sure ?

Once i have got some driving miles and get used to it, and this is the first sports car i have ever owned, i would like to meet up with other Noble owners.

Thanks to everyone who answered my previous questions and this forum is amazing and without it i would have never bought a Noble .

Watch out for Simon though as he might take off more than your splitter, he's in need of a steering rack !

Hi Tuxman ...Thanks for the offer , might not be able to get to drive it tomorrow .

Is it difficult to take the splitter off ? and does it effect the car's handling in anyway , not that i would probably notice !!

Splitter easy to remove it's held on by a few bolts screwed up from underneath, open the front clam up & you can see them. No issue with handling on the road.

You can get 1/4 splitters that may help.



I made mine out of acylic from a guy on ebay. £30

Drive it at Vmax at over 160 and it will come off on its own !!!!

verba welcome. I took my splitter off when I first picked mine up. No the splitter will make no difference that you will notice. However I do like the sound of Bondys been looking for that type of "boomerang" splitter for some time. Think it finishes the front nicely.

If you fit a couple of flat boomerang shaped ones to the corners, like the picture, you get a little notice before scrapeing the clam on speed bumps ferries. They are sacrificial and have saved my clam many times. Buy the material and make your own.

not normally to much of a problem as the front wheels are very close to the leading edge of the clip .

More stay on than come off I would think, and at faster speeds than that !

Yes I leave it on. If I go over a bump I always go over at 45deg. That helps a lot.

I prefer to keep it on as it protects the clam and acts as a buffer.

I personally have never had a problem clearing a speed bump with the splitter, it comes off very easily, just a few screws underneath, the M400 comes without splitter as standard, but people who track there cars like to have one to improve front end grip, but we are talking about cornering at very high speeds, for road use i doubt you would notice any difference, but it does look good and finishes the front end off nicely, so i would opt to keep it on and if worried about speed bumps then turning the wheels at an angle to the speed bump does wonders for clearance.
