Engine heat shield

Hi. Can anyone tell me if there should be some form of heat shield / reflector attached to the rear engine cover above the engine. It looks like something has been stuck on to mine but it is no longer there. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave

Don't know the official name but is a woven material (fibreglass) with a metalized coating. I've bought similar material, in either self adhesive or plain from Trident Racing Supplies @ Silverstone but sure you should be able to get it elsewhere..........search "heatshield" on Demon Tweeks and there's a few options.

I have just that very piece of heat shielding in the garage at the moment - used but in great condition and carefully removed (ie it will require sticking back on with some kind of adhesive).

No sensible offer refused

EDIT - just seen you are in West Yorkshire - hell as a fellow Yorkshireman you can have it if you come and collect

Just noticed that I've got some heatshield hanging down - above the exhaust and on the underside of the intercooler. Is it the same stuff ?

Similar, that's where I used some of the self adhesive type
