Noble Winter Tyres

I've decided to go for winter tyres, and wanted to go with Vredestein but I can't get the fronts. I have the standard wheels 225/40/18 and 265/35/18.

I am struggling to get any good brand that match fronts and rears.

I am trying to avoid mixing brands front to back - I assume that's absolutely necessary?

I am not familiar with every winter brand - any recommendations?

Thanks for the replies so far.
Tyremen can't get the Vredesteins.

I am working on the principles:

1. Almost any winter tyre will work better than a good summer tyre when the temp is under 7 degrees.
2. There is at least as much difference between the best, good and cheap brands for winter tyres as summer tyres.

Hence on the Falken and Hankook suggestions, I am concerned that they are mid range at best but that may be unfamiliarity and unfair.

Has anyone put these on a Noble or similar? (lotus?)

I have had a suggestion for Pirelli sottozeros W240. They are for Porsches, any views?

Oh ok sorry about that, their website says in stock?!? Seems its not the first time now...

If its any consolation, I've got the Vreds on mine but in 235 and 275 and they seem fine on the road but then I only ever drive in the dry and don't push them that hard.

If you have Corsa's, about 1 million times better. Any other tyre, around 100 times better.

I doubt it. Ver's are 50% cheaper than Pirelli in their summer range, but seem to be a bit better. Also, you are talking around 10-20% difference in price for Winter's - and given they are so much better than summer tyres could you tell the difference between a summer tyre in winter, and different winter tyres?

I have the Vreds on mine too, standard size 225/265 I think they are a very good winter tyre plenty of grip in the wet, however like all Nobles they are not so good in standing water so caution in heavy rain is a must.


I also looked at the Kumo it was a good tyre and well priced, but it seems that tyres are not so easy to find, no one has any stock took me 3wks.

Thanks for all the help. In the end the only matching set front and back I could get were Pirelli Sottozeros. They are for Porkers really but I am happy so far.

I can say they make a massive difference (as they should) here oop north. Let's hope I don't bin it after saying that! Also no noisier than the F1s.
