Is there much diference with a 2.5 and a 3.0 M12
Discussion
the spec varied throughout the entire life of the car and even the 3L vary... for start all 2.5 and some 3L had the 5 speed box without an lsd which is a weak point... The 3l are much more tuneable than the 2.5 but the performance difference as std is apparently pretty minimal.
2.5 did suffer ecu issues which the 3L addressed but most 2.5s have been upgraded now.
In all truth the newer the car you can afford the better regardless of model

Quote; The 3.0 are much more tuneable than the 2.5, Am i digging a deep hole to ask in what way :-)
i'm not really sure of exactly the reasons....slightly different engine, larger capacity, different inlet manifolds etc etcyou can definatelly get good power out of the 2.5, but you can get a lot more out of the 3 it seems.... we are talking 5-600bhp for a heavy modded 3l btw

Thats decent power!!!!!!! is that with lots of money thrown at them to get the power mentioned? Forged? Bigger Turbo's, charge cooling etc then will the drive need moding i.e gearbox, clutch ect
mine is around 6k and thats forged pistons (to take a bit more boost), uprated springs, bearing, bolts etc. balanced, fly wheel lightened, box and clutch strengthend along with all fluids coolant pipes thrust bearing and a load of other bits, inc st stl exhaust at extra cost.Bondy
I had a v6 clio for a couple of years (mk1 modded), the driving experience of the Noble (2.5 or 3.0) is an another planet, find a car with a good service history and ideally with an LSD ( depends if ur doing trackday work or not), and you will appreciate what a sub supercar feels like.
Almost every other car is "normal" in comparison.

melted a piston so as the engine was out I've gone the whole 9 yards but kept it a 2.5, well a 2.6 now.
Is yours finished yet, what did you get out of it in the end with proper boost?

No, not finished yet. My ECU is playing silly buggers.
Steve, I have a 3 and a phase 2 vee. The Noble is a much better car in almost all respects. It's a much much quicker car, handles a lot better, has superb damping for a sports car and a lovely noise. Having said that I still love the Vee, makes me smile every time I drive it. I don't think you will be disappointed if you changed to a Noble.
