Just got a cheap runabout car ... Ford Focus 2001 1.8 LX ...

I put it on Admiral Multi car - and the cost of the insurance is more than my Noble!!!

My Noble is £590 - same annual mileage on the Focus is £634!

Crazy! So the total comes to £1224!

I pay about £500 for my Nob, and about £250 for my 1.2 Clio.

I was looking to change my Clio for a Nissan Figaro recently, the insurance on that was coming out at about £450 ! FFS.

Thats crazy! How old are you and have you got any NCB?

I'm with Admiral and only pay £600 for both my cars. Admittedly my runabout is older, a Fiat Coupe 20VT and I have limited milage on the Noble (5000). Didn't think it would be that much more.

Forgot to add the Fiat has quite a few modifications.

I am becoming increasingly worried that with the recent insurance hikes we're all going to be seriously stung by Admiral on renewal.

I'm 23 n I'm pretty happy with price I get. I'm in the insurance industry. The noble is always gonna be cheap to insure as it is all based on claims history. Not many nobles. Not many crashes so it's cheap. For me to insure a scooby it's 3k.

I renewed with Admiral in November, it went up from £440 to £529 and they were still the cheapest I could get.

I used to think I was young ... but when I am on here I am actually quite an old fart!

1 year NCB - 33yrs old.

Makes sense that it is based on claims - I guess the Focus is a popular car ... I should have bought something a bit more special! Might have been cheaper in the long run!

Indeed. I'm 24 with 6 NCB, mine was £517. Hopefully any increase will be offset by being 25 and having 7NCB in April.

Admiral - doesn't allow you to do track days ... but I don't do them anyway.
