looking at buying my first noble advice would be great

yes. I measured the floor and bought it over the internet, I went for the slightly thicker 2mm and then cut out the 2 holes for the inspection hatches. It was sealed with a combination of neoprene tape and sikoflex and has never leaked since.
It cost me £70 for the aluminium and you could do it in a day if all goes well and you have a helping hand.

Sounds like the Ed and Devil thread this one.
Yes I have been to the Ace but not this year, its OK but a couplke of times was enough for me, there are a lot of lotus boys there and rarely more than a couple of Nobles.
I dont know why I have put the car up for sale really, I hadn't used it for a while and thought it a waste, then you go out for a blast and really should take it off pistonheads then but I have left it on and if it goes who knows what I will get, they are a hard car to beat for the price.

I read that the reading on the temp gauge is fake.
It will always read no more than 90 unless there is a problem.
I don't remember what temp the fans kick in. 100?
Is a 2.5 really much cheaper than insuring a 3? Would not have thought that there would be much difference. Everyone seems to be paying around the £600 mark regardless.

i know the temp gauges vary i think on all cars
it seems to be cheaper as they go on the engine capacity the earlier car with all of the faults sorted is the same car when sorted really , and i strugle to find time do long journeys in my cars as much as i want to tbh so a 2.5 seems a good car still .
