Hi all,
After taking my 2.5 to an EVO photo shoot yesterday, I noticed the boost gauge reading 0.7/0.8 at full power, she used to whip round to 1.0 and tail off to 0.8.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Jay

Took her out again today and still boosting lower than normal (but still fast), any thoughts most welcome.

could be something simple like a soft actuator, or the wires to the boost solenoid may have come loose

where are you based ?

Have you checked the hoses for splits, loose clamps, etc.? Also check the vacuum hoses for cracks, leaks. I don't know about the 2.5L cars, but on the 3.0L cars, I've found many leaks where the brake booster hose and the boost gauge hose attach to the manifold. Might also be a leaky wastegate actuator, or improper preload between the actuator and the wastegate.

I'd probably start with hooking up our smoke machine to check for leaks, then use a little compressed air to check the actuators. Then, I'd pop off the actuator clip and check/adjust the preload. If I didn't find any problems, I'd continue with pulling some of the intake piping to check for oil, and to reach in and check the turbo for play in the shaft or a worn bearing.

I had a similar problem, and had new actuators fitted yesterday by Gary at North London Dyno, then tweeked on the RR by Gadge.
Amazing increase in power and torque, which was then dialled back to safegaurd the diff etc.
