Is a Noble the right car for me?

Ok chaps, I have had a Merc CLK 55AMG for the last year and to be honest I am at the end of my tether with it. I was going to buy a TVR but got put off by all the stories of problems so bought what I thought was going to be a more reliable and practical option. I was very wrong and 4k later I have still got some minor electrical problems to fix. I also don't really like the auto box and want to go back to a manual.
I've just bought a sensible car (Focus Estate) for getting to work and back in so I am thinking again of possibly going down the TVR route, but then I noticed the M12. I would be looking at the cheaper end of the market 20-25k. Will I get a nightmare for this sort of money or are Noble's more reliable. I understand things like brake disks and pads etc.. will be expensive but will I be rebuilding the engine and gearbox after 20k miles?
Are there any recommended places to buy from, I would rather part ex my Merc if possible and get a car with a warranty.

Interesting question .... You should be able to pickup a nice 3 litre car with your budget and generally they are pretty reliable however they do not like being stored outside and there are things that need upgrading !! If you are any good with the spammers it can save you alot of dosh !!
Buying from a main dealer is not always the safest option as the warrantys do not appear to be worth the paper they are written on !!! I would chose a well maintained private car at a cheaper price any day of the week .
When it comes to driving enjoyment and the thrill of driving a fast car nothing for the same money will touch it !!! Tux

My advise, sell the Merc privately, then cash buy the Noble. You will be surprised how far your money can go!!

I have got a garage to store it in. I am not a bad mechanic but to be honest time is one thing I don't have much of because I am self employed. My biggest worry would be having to get the engine of gearbox (as with the Merc) rebuilt.
I know a private sale is much better, its again the problem of having time to sell a car, when most people can view it (evenings and weekend) I am at work. I also work away a lot.

Good with spammers ? What do you do, get all those lottery winnings ( from a lottery you never entered ) or that nice man from Nigeria who wants to give you millions in return for access to your bank account to pay for it then ?

Believe it, its very addictive, the Noble is a great car, but there is still so much room for improvement. I think if i add up all the hours i have spent on the Noble and work out how much i could have earned putting that time into work and also add on how much money i have spent on the car, then i probably could have bought a 458 instead Upgrades are addictive, so beware.
Quite a disturbing thought.I've had my car for four years, done 20,000 miles and we've just passed 52k on the clock. My only major bill has been the ECU (one to look for if you get an early 2.5). Others have had bigger issues - talk to Bondy! If you remember that it is still a car and not an indestructible track machine you may go some way to nurturing it through its life until you can afford nee even want to do upgrades. If you have never had a car with this performance you will not feel the urge to do upgrades in the immediate future. Stop me if I'm stating the obvious. Even if you have had a car with similar performance the Noble will still blow you away. I'm not saying that it will not you give you a few niggles here and there but as somebody mentioned earlier for some reason they are easy ish to accept and get fixed. The biggest thing by far for me is the plethora of knowledge and support on this forum, no matter how bad it seems you can post on here and get of advice and 'sympathy'.

The current feeling is that there are only about 700 of the entire range worldwide (excluding the Rossion Q1) and it keeps appearing in EVO magazine lately, so is the only way up!! Probably not in the near future but one never knows.....
