Relocated Fuses

I have recently moved the main fuse and the block of four fuses that are located under the rear clam next to the dipstick/oil filler to a more sensible location.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the old bolts

I can't help with the bolts but I would be interested in where you have moved them too and how much of a pain in the backside it was.

I got fed up of knocking the dust cover off the block of four fuses every time I dip the oil so I've fitted them under the air filter.

It looks a bit cramped in the picture, but actually they are easy to get to (and how often do you need to anyway!)

It was quite easy to do, just made a little bracket and did a little re-routing. All done without the need to adjust the lengths of the wires

I was hoping that you would have had to move them and therefore alter the wiring somehow but not to worry. I have lost the dust cover and keep knocking the blue fuse out......somewhere into the engine bay usually never to be seen again.
You've asked how to get the old bolts out but how did you secure the fuse housing/mounting to the bulkhead in the new location?
I hope your car's going well and see you soon maybe? Are you still racing the other car?

I folded up a little ally bracket and fitted the main fuse mounting braket onto that. The four-fuses block also bolts to this bracket through the two mounting holes in its base. The bracket is then bolted through the fibreglass under the cross-rail.

It made me feel great! Until someone pointed out that this was the second time I'd won it, the first was in 2001. Then I felt OLD!!!!

So does anyone know how to get these bolts out!!

A change that a few people have carried out is to put the fuses, relays battery and ECU on the other side if the firewall, inside the cabin.

Yes. I have had the ECu put inside, keeps it out of the weather so to speak.

Good to hear from you and I'm glad to hear someone bought the DVD (and even noticed me!)

Clarkson was supposed to be running a car built to our regs (Group One - original block, head, gearbox and suspension layout and control tyres)

His car was powered by a Duratec engine, different gearbox, was five linked, and was running on better tyres!!!! - Cheating git!!

I still beat him though!!!! HA!! :-)

If I remember correctly they are both joined to a flat plate on the inside of the car under the alcantara, this is how you can undo the nuts without the bolts turning, try pushing one and if the other moves then they are joined and need to be removed from inside the cockpit.
