Noble M600- Best drivers car 2010?

Here is the link to Autocar best drivers car award 2010, nice video with lots of footage of the(blue) M600, god knows why they are still letting people test the heavier prototype. It has been pitted against the Italia 458, which was interesting to see them go head to head at Donnington, unfortunatelt they did not announce the lap times

ahhh...yes the video is old i never thought of that, my brain automatically assumes that they do best drivers car 2010 at the end of the year, just in case they decide on a winner and then another model/version comes out after which may have changed the result.

Then imo they should have waited because it is a crime for Noble to not win drivers car of the year award Although second place is good, but the M600 is for people "in the Know" so the guys at autocar obviously "don't know".
Fingers crossed it will win something in 2011.

It got out voted by a GT3 which is a very worthy opponent but at the end of the day the M600 has a lot to live up to, as it has to follow in the shadow of the M400 which won numerous awards. Top Gear’s Best Driver’s Car (2001 & 2002), Autocar’s Best Driver’s Car (2004) and Evo’s Road & Track Car of the Year (2005).
Waiting would have been a bad idea as they have only just produced a road going car with the carbon body, if they had waited they would have had to follow the new Maclaren 458 new Lambo etc which are hard acts to follow. The 200K market cant be that big so it was better to get some sales/orders in before the big boys brought their new cars out. Even though the blue car was not production spec the engine is so the performance figures which is the cars main selling point could be verified and the results were pretty amazing as can be seen in last weeks Autocar where they used the blue M600's figures as comparison to the Veyron they tested. Praise indeed when you consider the Veyron is nearly 2 million quid!
Great Video !! , love the sounds of the GT3RS and the Noble sounds like thunder !! after reading Chris Harris's artical i will never support Ferrari unless its a customer car !! they cheat ,did you see they even supplied there own petrol !! wonder what Autocar will think of the Carbon bodied M600 when they get chance to test it !!

Believe me lots cheat in one way or another when they supply factory cars for road tests, look at the original eType in the 60's the Cerbera that Clarkson had on that video beating everything the original 360 figures that Autocar could not understand. Especially any car that has a turbo it is so easy to have a very healthy engine when it comes to providing a car for a track test. A true test of a car is a customer one or a long term test with figures at 12,000 miles. You can put your house on the fact that Noble had a very healthy engine when they let Autocar test the M600 as anything less that scintilating figures would have been unacceptable. As we all know Autocar gave Noble the benefit of the doubt as the blue car had some shall we say teething problems with the engine when thay had it in one of the standard states of tune!

Performance figures and best drivers car are two different things though, i.e. the Evora won it last year but is hardly in the same league with performance
A Buggati is also definately not a drivers car, so regardless of performance figures being similar it does not help the arguement of the Noble being the best drivers car.
80kg lighter would make the car feel a bit more nimble with handling and could have tipped the scales in the favour of the M600.
As for waiting, i understand how getting in early orders could help but i doubt the company's business model would be that short sighted, but saying that maybe they were complacent about thinking long term.
I think 2011 will be a good year for this car with critical acclaim, i am sure the carbon fibre M600 is going to win some sort of award, well i hope it does.
It is doing good but needs to do more, a damn sight more than the better styled, cheaper and established competition out there anyway, as soon as they start stripping weight and gadgets off the 458 the gap will only widen in my opinion, this is the problem with pricing your car above the competition people expect more, if the M600 was the cheaper car i think it would be getting far more praise as the underdog.
As for what you were saying on your other thread Barefoot i agree with some of the things you said, if Lee produces the same performance for under 100k with the Fenix and also acheives a sleek design he is going to seriously make some waves.
If you want to get a car good publicity then get it around the Nurburgring in a mind blowing time, that will have people queuing up to buy one! ... as long as they change the angular design of that back end it is looking very rear end heavy, they have to seriously sort that body design.

Cannot wait to get my passenger ride in the M600 at silverstone ,it will be interesting to compare it to my own car !!!! i just wonder how much quicker it will be bearing in mind i was chasing GT3RS at spa last year !!!!

My point was the car handling great and winning the handling awards is not enough believe me look at the sales of the Evora how many have you seen on the road and that is a £50k car with a famous name/heritage. It's biggest selling point at its price has to be Maclaren F1 type performance which it has up to a point. Look at ascari and all the others that have come and gone you really do have to make a very very special car if you are a small company to compete against the big boys in that price range.

Noble as it is today it seems has nothing to do with this forum except supplying parts for the older cars as nobody on here seems to have ordered one or have a deposit on one in fact it does not look like anyone on Pistonheads has or is willing to divulge.

Anyway if/when Lee does bring out a car with similar performance at half the price as he promises then you will see a move of allegence away from Noble to Fenix as at least some on here might order one and then can post topics about a car someone owns! Yes I know then it will be a Fenix forum and not a Noble but it will be made by the man called Noble who started the company and whose name is on all your cars.

But you are, latching on to any thread about the M600 and misquoting, editing your posts and deliberately misconstruing what posters like Daisy Duke and others have said. It seems you delight in it, much to the detriment of the forum.You seemed to be able to have a half sensible conversation on the Ferrari forum(although for someone that said we didn't know much about Noble, you thought the new owner made Hoovers

I was lead to believe it was because it wasn't "standard" it had those issues. It would be rather worrying to any purchaser if a "standard" car went like that....I should know, I went through it myself, three times!

Sources (i.e. in plural). This is true for that story (which I commented on at the time).Of course I am sure a willing M600 owner will one day offer up his car to Autocar or Evo for a test of a production car and we'll then see, after all in a year or so there will be quite a few around if the car really is now in full production.
So perhaps let's just leave the name calling of Ferrari et. all until we have some independent facts?

Anyway, Noble is always up there with best drivers car, if a Noble is not winning its coming second, i expect it will take the title in 2011, shows you what the competition is like though when what is regarded as one of the best Ferrari's ever built comes 3rd place, lol, i bet Ferrari were fuming.
I was just a bit upset the M600 did not take the number 1 spot, i was watching the clip with a smug look on my face because i was so certain the Noble was going to take it.
