Has anyone had any problems with uprated clutches. Is a paddle type needed for over 420lbft or are normal ones ok unless you go silly with the torque?
Normal clutch can take about 420lbft i believe, i found the limit of the organic upgrade from helix at 470lbft so removed it to go with the helix paddle clutch that im told will be fine for upto 550lbft.Others are available from the US crowd at great cost but i also believe another option is being developed at the moment by some lads who use this forum.

that would be me and I hope to find out how well it works in the next few months Graham

Once Its proven to work I will be selling my modified paddle clutch (same as hollopockets one) with 700miles on it as am only keeping it for now as a fall back.
The clutch Im developing will go way beyond the torque potential of the engine (700ftlb) be lighter to use than the std clutch and cost around half what the US charge... its also massivelly lighter so should make the engine rev faster.
But its all pie in the sky until I have driven the car and proven it etc.
