Finally got myself a Nob today. After only 2 days advertised on Pistonheads, my much loved and mint 22B Impreza went off to its new home in Belgium yesterday which then allowed me to be able to pick up my new car, an Azure Blue M400. The car is known to many on here as it is/was DavidMT's pristine example. The car is absolutely stunning in every respect having been meticulously maintained by David. The floor itself is an absolute work of art!
Never having driven it, or even been in, any other Noble before, the 330 mile drive back today was a pretty 'cautious' one. Yorkshire was bathed in thick clag today so it was Scotland before I found a dry bit and felt brave enough to plant it! Holy 5hit, its scary!haha!
After the comparitive safety of my other 2 cars, both pretty quick with 4wd and 400bhp, the more powerful and lightweight Noble really is seriously wild, and in a completely different league altogether. No wonder you guys rave about them all the time!
David's also had a few bits and pieces added to it; amongst other things a Roushe exhaust, bigger intercooler, adjustable suspension, upgraded brakes etc, etc, and finally a remap to approx 480bhp. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this beastie!

Looking forward to reading/sharing and contributing on the forum with my fellow Nobbers.

Congratulations Ian, you must have one of the best looked after cars out there (Did David give you the proper wheels?)

Very nice car you have there, i have seen this car in the flesh and it is a fine example, many extras and very well maintained, i will only say to you what i always bugged david about, and that is ... "Get a bigger intercooler" smile
Cars are mapped at Noble motorsports with a charge cooler attached, so when it acheives 480bhp that is with low air intake temps which will not be getting reproduced in normal driving conditions, so in effect it is not performing to its true potential, yes, there is even more performance on tap for you when you are ready!

It is a seriously very nice car and welcome to the Nobility. smile

Welcome Iain, a not uncommon path to tread after an Impreza. You'll have great fun in it that's for sure. smile

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

Rob_W yes, I have also bought the original wheels and tyres for the car.

I can't wait for the better weather as it will scare me big style in the wet! I think I might enrol for one of those Andy Walsh 'No Limits' performance car driving days.

thelandlord,- it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make when selling a car, I absolutely loved my 22B but i just felt that after 5 years it was time to experience something else while I still have the urge to go fast. I don't think that you will be dissappointed if you do go for it. What Impreza do you have?

the devil, haha, yes, I gave myself a wee shi7er today whenI planted it at about 60mph in 3rd, ON A DRY ROAD,the rear wheels 'lit up'and squirted me sideways! Quality!

Tosser tongue out

It was a sad day to see it go down the drive way for the last time but it did look and sound fantastic. I know it will be in safe hands with Iain but it was time to move onto the next toy and I wanted something more mainstream that I could go out and abuse without risk of doing some serious (£) damage. The Noble was always more of a car than I felt safely pushing or could handle.

I actually bought the replacement this morning but I haven't seen it eek. It has already been sent direct for a bit of fettling....supercharger/ECU & remap/oil cooler/clutch/coilovers etc. But should be ready for a few tracks days when the weather improves. Maybe more difficult to handle than the Noble but much cheaper to repair and replace should things get out of control.

I don't intend hiding from this forum though as is it probably one of it not the best and most fun on PH biggrin

Unfortunately just a S2000 but track prepared - lots of BHP but not too much torque (but should be sub 10s to 100mph when finished). The fun will come when I replace the 997TT which may be later this year wink.

I think Iain liked the ride in that but as I said to him, when my mate was driving it back (having had the Noble serviced at JNM) when we finally found a private road on the way back to York I was just about reeling in the 997TT in the Noble when he was giving it full beans. I was holding back a bit as I had actually sold the car and it was a bit damp. On one long private stretch of road I would have had him if it had been slightly longer and I wasn't concerned about writing off £100k of my own machinery eek
