stone chips can be fixed so that they do not stand out but i would personally only bother with big stone chips taht stand out, if you try to do too many you may aswell get the area resprayed.
You have to try and create a flat surface, metallics look different colours in different light, and dips or raised surfaces catch light differently.
With touch ups always go a shade lighter rather than darker.
You also really need the surface to be horizontal so with the front clam it may need taking off.
You have to make it look worse before it will look better.
1. sand the immediate area with some very fine wet and dry(to create a small crater)
2. apply a blob of touch up paint, allowing to fill the crater and be slightly raised.
3. Wait one week until hardened
4. sand with fine wet and dry until surface is flat and smooth
5. Polish with different grades of compound until the gloss finish has returned.
