Is there any way the turbos could have been plumbed in wrong with the coolant pipes and if so what would be the symptoms?
I assume one is a feed and one is a return to the turbo, due to the mentality of the Cypriots (i.e not a care in the world) i have to double check everything they do.
One thing i did notice was that they had failed to use the new gaskets from the turbo to the header, could that cause a problem?

Since putting the T28's the car feels a bit lumpy/inconsistent on acceleration and a bit flat/unresponsive at mid range, i had T28's on my old car and this feels different, seems to be taking too long to build up boost when accelerating from 3000rpm. Just wanting ideas of what to look for, i will have to check actuators/waste gates again tomorrow, i'm sure it will be something simple so throw any ideas at me for things i can take a look at and tick off the list.

Somethings is definately amiss due to the inconsistency, i.e. if i hammer it through the gears and changing at 6500rpm it performs as expected, it's as if the car needs to be thrashed to acheive smooth power delivery, could i have a boost leak somewhere? The induction noise does sound somewhat different, like a fluttering sound.

I just went out in the car again to see if i could tune in on what is going on a bit better, and i'm not sure how to explain it, but it feels like somebody has a strangle hold over the power on wide open throttle, only way i can describe it is when the car once overheated and the power just dropped, like somebody had just put a choke hold on the car, it feels similar to that.
The problem seemed more exagertated tonight not sure if its something to do with the ambient temperature dropping, WOT and the strangle hold appears on the cars power, like it wants to go but something is holding it back, if i gradually build up revs the problem does not occur, but even if i plant my foot down at 5k rpm same thing, i'm pretty sure its not knocking, i have experienced the knock sensor in the past and that feels very different, this is more like the power is being restrained rather than the power being abruptly cut off.

So after driving for an hour i decided to concede and head home, on the final straight home i tried WOT one more time and this time the car went like the clappers 2nd, 3rd, 4th?? Still a bit lumpy on acceleration but the power was there.
I can not understand this inconsistency.

I cant see how i can have installed any of the injectors incorrectly, they just push in and plug in, and i cant see anywhere i could be getting any sort of air leak or vaccuum leak, but i will also recheck all manifold tommorrow and put some gasket sealant to make sure everything is sealed air tight, i will also recheck all ducting to and from turbos and intercooler to throttle body etc..

The car is going on the rolling road on Thursday for a diagnostics, but its better to be prearmed with as many ideas as possible as they are charging 250euros an hour frown, it would be even better if i could sort the problem without the diagnotics.

Chris ,is the boost steady ? whats it reading on full boost ?? sounds like a fuel issue to me having you got a pressure gauge on the fuel system ?

Boost does appear to be steady but its difficult to keep an eye on the boost gauge for too long while driving, i am also starting to think it is more of a fuel issue, when we checked the fuel pressure the other day it was 3 bar, but i will get it checked again tomorrow.

p.s. the boost is reading 0.9 bar.

Sounds interesting..

I doubt the water pipes being connected up wrong would cause it to run the way you describe. its either Fuel pump/plugs/coil/map smile

lol thanks HP smile

I have done all plug gaps today to 0.75mm (thanks for all your advice again Steve smile
but the problem still remains on wide open throttle, lumpy power delivery, when half throttle is applied the car accelerates smooth all the way.
We checked the fuel pressure and it sprayed some octane 100 in my eye at 3 bar so that was fun.
When driving and applying load the fuel pressure would go up to 3.5, is that a problem?
Since re gapping the plugs the car seems to not be starting as well, and sometimes starts with a pop, so it could still well be the plugs that need replacing.
The car runs better when warmed up, and ticks over more smoothly.
I disconnected the BOV from the manifold to eliminate boost leak, but my mechanic only told me to blank off the manifold vacuum, not the BOV vaccum pipe so not sure if that has been eliminated or not.

Still looking for answers it could still well be the plugs that need changing but having trouble sourcing some replacements over here.

What plugs are they?

Took the car out again tonight, my friend was following in his 997 turbo and he said my car was spitting flames, so i seem to be getting a lot of unburnt fuel entering the exhaust.
I am going to fit a new bigger fuel filter tomorrow as the fuel pump is buzzing a bit too much for my liking, i'm also going to source some new NGK (BR7 EFS) plugs and get them fitted and see if the problem gets resolved.

I am checking over the fuel system today, first is a pic of the fuel pump, i just want to check that it is a Bosch 044, it has lots of different numbers on it but at the end of a long line of numbers it says 044.

Here is a pic of the fuel filter, it was completely clean when opened up, this is being replaced today by a big mercedes fuel filter to eliminate the chance of a fuel restriction being the problem, but i doubt it is.

I am also changing the air filters today for something a bit bigger and newer and i am moving them again, this time out of the direct line of the side pods, they were completely clogged up with grease, so this could be the problem seen as though my induction noise sounded a bit ropey.

what wastegate pressures did you have on when the car was mapped, and what do you have now?

did the pump come with a non return valve on the end and if so why have you removed it?

its worth mentioning that genuine 044's come with a non return valve and its better than almost all the aftermarket units as its almost completely non restrictive so Id recommend using it.
