What have people used for replacing floor pannel rivets??

I really cant make up my mind as to which screws are best suited.
Ive been looking at davids thread and not sure about the hex heads, do they desturb airflow dramatically?
Im just woundering what else people have been using? Any input appriciated.

I have bought the hex heads and am doing the same as David done to his floor with new panels, they are very small and will not affect airflow under the car, pictures make them look bigger than they actually are.

The rear engine tray and diffuser are held in with self tappers as standard, most of mine were still intact, the front, side sills and main floor panel were all held in with rivets, i found over 60 of these standard rivets to have popped and floor parts sagging, would not use rivets again even if the hex heads were proven to hinder the cars aero.

Hi Steve , I used some stainless self tappers with lots of silicone !!!! :-)

Hi simon, did they pull up ok? did you have many snap or round off?
What size did you get? and ive been told that ali and stainless will react and oxidise quikly? although as im powder coating the only point of contact could be between the hole and thread of the screw.

Hi Steve , Daddysumo recommended a blade type screw that cuts it way as you screw them in , worked great , will show you when you pop over !!

They are called TEK screws and you can get them in all the usual shapes and sizes. I just prefered a hex head as they provided more material to grab (and could use a socket) and did run the risk of rounding off. Some still did snap off if you applied too much pressure.
