I think i have master cylinder failure!!!!!!!!

Anyone know what the AP part no. is for the master brake cylinder (3GTO)as i think mine is now shot. Waste of a track day at commbe as well.....
Also what is the recommended brake fluid, and can you mix differant types?????

Well i think i have.....First outing in anger today at commbe, i must admit i have not really thought much of the brakes up to today anyway. But as i entered Quary for the second time i had to pump the brakes to get them to bite!!!!!realising i had more than just soft brakes/late bitting point, i came in. We proceeded to bleed a good litre of new fluid through but endding up with a softer and softer pedal, with no air in the fluid we puled off!!!!!

The query about the brake fluid is due to us using AP 600 racing brake fluid without knowing what i had already in the system, didn't realise you could'nt mix certain brake fluids!!!!!!!!!

Any pointers would be welcomed.

With the engine off, if you depress the brake pedal does it hold or sink to the floor ?

Brake Fluid Noble recommend is 'Shell Advance Brake Plus DOT 5.1' and you shouldn't mix different DOTs

Sinks to the floor, but if you quickly pump then you get some resistance, leave for a few moments then sinks to the floor again??????

Does sound like master cylinder to me then,if you have new fluid and no leaks....
