Advise please Gents

Im wanting to push on with my rebuild so im doing the pistons later or hopefuly in another bot end if i get hold of one. Anyway here is the dilemma;
I realisticaly can only run about 350 bhp to keep safe and not run the risk of melting a piston(my assumption anyway).my turbos run at standard boost 0.6 bar, i think they are capable of 1 bar and this would get me 350bhp ?
Ive got bigger turbos but they will be running less boost i pressume to get to the same horse power? so as im limited on power for the time being is it worth putting the bigger units on or will they just seem laggy?
Or are the bigger turbos going to give me more torque? or will more torque kill my engine as well.
I want my car to be reliable and not break befor getting new pistons ready!

In my opinion do not worry about lag, I have a yellow shed map on t28s and it is very responsive.
Others in the know will be able to confirm this but i think you are ok running one bar on the 3 litre turbos, just make sure you have good fuel flow and good map and good ignition.

At 1 bar with free flowing exhaust I was running 372bhp but then a piston went

However, my garage are convinced this was due to the liquid metal stuff they had used to block the holes for the std N/A butterfly parts falling out and into the chamber. I talked about this on my rebuild post. When I get the car back I'll put up pics of these bits.

Steve (steveobes) has been running around 400bhp on std pistons for sometime but alas his enging went just after mine.

Before I did the exhaust I was running around 340bhp. So get yourself an exhaust and you should be able to run 350bhp with less than 1 bar keeping things safe (ish).

Hi bondy, ive got exhaust, infact ive got everthing except forged pistons. Do you think if im going to keep it to a safe 350bhp i woild be better with original 2.5L turbos or T25's? as i have got both.
Were you running on the smaller turbos to get to 372 or had you uprated to T25's ?

Was using std turbos. I think 350 will be fine.
